Here are a few thoughts about how to visualize models, for the beginning generalized linear models (with a few extensions). Visualization of models is the first step for building interactive graphical interfaces for modeling, which is what I'm working on.

The essential picture is the one you find in the third step, but I gave the two preliminary ones to illustrate the main idea.
(Step 1) My first thought was to use trees - very much like the trees used to parse formula expressions.
(Step 2) This is a more concise way of displaying the tree.
(Step 3) Using the main ideas from (2) this is the most recent version.
